As Coronavirus Spreads, So Do Fear and Xenophobia
The outbreak of the Coronavirus is drastically affecting the lives of students of Asian descent at Williston.
Following official regulations, Williston has imposed travel restrictions on Chinese students in response to the outbreak. The school has worked in accordance with government and state agencies to come to this decision.
Girls Basketball Starts off Undefeated
“Over the summer I played basketball in Bhutan with my team and I put in tireless amounts of work,” she said. While she was home, she trained with the Bhutan National Women’s team.
“Every morning I drove to the court and got up 500 shots at least,” she added.
Community Service Club Helps Riverside Raise $112,000
This year’s auction raised a total of $112,000, which is the most earned amount in the auction’s history.
The 13 students arrived at Riverside a little bit before 6:00 p.m. to learn the logistics for the night. Most of them walked around with trays of appetizers or stood behind stations serving food. Among the 13 were also two photographers taking pictures of the event.
Williston Model UN Diplomats Receive Recognition at MIT
Williston students joined more than 300 students from across the world to debate issues such as women’s access to education, nuclear nonproliferation, international space regulations, and futuristic apocalypse scenarios involving the likes of Tony Stark. Williston students worked through 12 hours in their separate committees in order to find solutions to these problems.
